MORE ABOUT
My Practice
I’m glad you’re here!
I consider myself a nimble clinician; I'm confident that we’ll find a method of care that works for you. You already have strategies that have gotten you this far; therapy is a place to re-evaluate what still works and what could be refined to better suit today's challenges. While the work can be heavy and hard, ultimately I think my clients leave energized and with a new - or renewed - buoyancy to weather future storms.
I often ask clients to think about if therapy with me goes perfectly, how will they know? This is a prompt to dream big, and to think about what your days, weeks, years would be like without the obstacles of certain memories, thoughts, emotions, or patterns of behavior. If therapy with me is helpful, would you wake up six months from now thinking different thoughts? Feeling different emotions? Free of any particular habits? Trauma, pain, or loss may be a part of your story, but we’ll co-create a landscape where you flourish; transforming difficult experiences into fertile grounds for a rich existence.
My current practice includes mostly adult women, about half of which are therapists themselves. I also work with Spanish-speaking clients/inmigrantes, as well as adolescents ages 11+.
Modalities
I am (almost) certified in Brainspotting and TF-CBT. I find Brainspotting to be a particularly flexible approach that can stand on its own, or enhance other frameworks. I am also trained in & love to draw from IFS/Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Sessions
My typical session is 55 minutes. Insurance recognizes this as CPT code 90837.
Sometimes meetings run shorter, and sometimes we add an extra session, depending on what’s helpful to you at the time. Health insurances might influence our treatment: For example, they may only pay for a 90834; this would mean a roughly 45 minute session.
Telehealth
Currently, all of my sessions are done virtually via Zoom. I have found telehealth to be just as effective as in-person therapy, with advantages and disadvantages to both. While a telehealth session lacks the energy generated from sharing a physical room, it does offer its own intimacy as we meet each other from the comfort of our own spaces.
Rates and Payment
My out-of-pocket rate is $150/session.
I care about making therapy accessible and financially sustainable. If cost is a barrier, please reach out and we'll see if there's a number that works for both of us.
I accept the following MN health insurances:
Aetna
BCBS
UBH/Optum
UMR
Medica
Medicaid/MA (most PMAPs, but no Health Partners at this time)
Everyone is welcome.
I respect that therapy in an unjust world has its limitations. Together, we will develop resilience practices for life's tough stuff while also recognizing that if you were not suffering the emotional toll of discrimination in the workplace, for example, or watching violence unfold everyday on our phones, there might not be any need for therapy in the first place. People of all identities, races, immigration statuses, genders, orientations can trust that I believe in the importance of their stories and that their lives are to be cherished.
